Hot Afternoon and a Wedding To Remember

It was a hot afternoon at Lemery Batangas when Atty. Guilbert and Marianne says “I Do” at the Parish of the Holy Cross in Lemery Batangas. The temperature was absolutely high. I told my staff to make our energy also as high as the climate. “Mabanas” in Batangas, hot temperature can really make our guests uneasy. So we tried everything to make our guests comfortable and think of ways how they can relax and enjoy the event.

At the church

We checked if all electric fans are working. My technical staff looked for windows to control ventilation. Also, we checked for lighting fixtures, if we are going to open all the church lights plus the videographers’ halogen bulb (you know?), those fixtures emits heat. So we tried to manage between functions of lighting (i.e. visibility, mood etc.) and room temperature. (the picture is from google images)

Everything went well except for the parish secretary (his name not worth mentioning) who became uncooperative for quite a day of our stay in “his” church. As an events coordinator, we have to master human relationship skills but this secretary consumed all my patience. But we walked away asking for apology. Even we feel like we owe also a sorry, he dint even move a finger to show his regret; a truly arrogant person that should be somewhere not the parish office.  On a situation like this, we thought of our clients concern. As our utmost priority, we know that we also represent our client as we are hired to do the event. May the Lord bless this parish secretary.

At the reception

Casa Corazon pavilion is where the wedding reception happened. It is quite an old edifice overlooking Batangas sea. Because the catering service is not an accredited supplier of LTN, we tried to modify some of the venue design. We get rid of several heavy table cloths and make use of cloth with light color hues. We also re-arrange the tables to most convenient placement.  Space is very important where guests can move and the new couple can walk around for table hopping.  As for table centerpieces, we re-arrange the flowers and we add feather and white accent to create an idea of wind. Plus to make it more exciting, we created a mini-entrance gazebo made-up of a flower arc (provided by the florists) and a soft white shawl.

The reception program

Atty. Gilbert and Marianne choose a “short & sweet” program ceremony. The program had two male emcees, six wedding reception singers, a wedding game show, and an onsite video provided by Jonas Byron productions. Approximately 350 guests attended the wedding. Truly a memorable day…
